Make a truss Bridge model by ice-sticks & fevicol.
1. Round 1: 1st day Truss bridge model is to be made
Ice sticks and fevicol are provided by college
2. Round 2: 2nd day The structures made will be tested on the day of the event
Objective:-Make a truss model by ice-sticks & fevicol.
1. Sticks can be altered physically by cutting or notching at any angle.
2. Only Fevicol can be used as adhesive, use of other adhesives may lead to disqualifications.
3. Use of threads is not allowed.
Truss details: span 60cm (±1cm) and centre to centre distance between two trusses 10cm(±1cm).
1. Maximum number of sticks that can stack together is three . (ie. Overlapping of stick)
2. If not satisfy criteria may lead to disqualification.
Testing: 3. The load will be applied through a hook that connects a steel rod that will be laid upon the span of the bridge
4. The rod will be same for every team and will be placed at the middle of the structure.
5. The bridge model will be loaded till failure.
6. If it happens that the structure reaches the threshold deflection above 1.5cms then the increase of load will be stopped and the evaluation will be made on the same load.
First the structure will be reviewed to check if it violates any rules mentioned above. The efficiency will be calculated as the ratio of ultimate load capacity to the bridge weight.Maximum ratio will declared as winner
